• Before booking anything, check if any travel bans or restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Get the latest updates by checking government and airport websites.
• When you pass through airport checkpoints, do not remove your face mask. You will be required to lower it briefly for identification purposes. Anyone refusing to wear a mask may face civil penalties and may also be escorted from the terminal.
• Rather than handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, position it straight on the reader yourself. When that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now allowed in your carry-on baggage. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll have to take it out of your bag at the X-ray machine for screening.
• Place any personal items (e.g, keys, phone and wallet) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• If you're bringing food through security screening, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA employee will need to handle your food container or carry-on bag for closer inspection.
